About

With 85% of IT budgets being spent simply maintaining current state, IT departments are continuously being asked to ‘do more, with less’. In this workshop we look at techniques for changing the ratio of IT spend, simplifying IT operations, and looking at ways to leverage existing application functionality to both differentiate and drive innovation.

Enterprise application environments have become increasingly complex, with applications tending to be acquired ad-hoc, on a project by project basis. More recently, Cloud services are being considered by organizations to help them move rapidly from idea to reality, which further complicates the IT landscape. How can we consolidate this existing investment, and still utilize the application functionality to innovate?

In this workshop we will explore the best practices for increasing the value of existing application functionality, including leveraging Cloud offerings. We will focus on techniques for ensuring flexibility, scalability and enterprise-security, enabling businesses to pre-empt and react to changes in real-time, as well as extending the reach of existing applications to mobile channels.
